Got caught selling weed (in highschool)?
Posted by admin
My Name I asked:
Today i got busted selling nug to 2 kids. The amount i had total was 4 grams, and they found it all. Im currently suspended for 5 days OSS, and on the next wensday i have a hearing with the superintentent. I was wondering if there are any things i should expect (minimum punishment, etc) and if there are certain things i should or shouldnt say. I know the basic charm tactics, politeness, respectfullness, and so on. Thanks for any help

Oh yeah, Im 14 so law does NOT get involved
Maybe i worded that last sentence wrong.
The law is involved to a extent, but they won’t cuff me, etc.
Its the schools job to punish me, not the laws. Thats what i meant, sorry for the misunderstanding.

you got lucky on the law thing, in my small town, they would definately be involved whether you are 14 or not.

i guess it doesn’t matter much, because you seem to not realize the problem itself, which is that you are a drug dealer. I don’t have a problem with people smoking a little weed, but I do have a problem with 14-year-olds selling it to other kids in school.
I’m sure you’ll weasel your way out of this one, but I think you should focus your efforts more on not getting caught, because in a few years when you’re selling more and harder drugs you’ll find that the District Attorney isn’t swayed by “charm tactics”. Do you really want to spend time in prison? I’d think that through before continuing your career as a drug dealer.

I know at my high school, if you are caught selling it is an automatic expulsion for 180 days no matter how much you were selling.

No! Just make your reservation for the prison cell of your choice.

Since its your first time getting caught, they’ll be lenient. They’ll give you a speech on how bad and destructive drugs are and some pamphlets for you to read.
BTW: It seems like you have a natural talent for business/marketing. If I were you, I would clean up my act and focus on getting into a good business college. I think you would do real good.

It’s best to just let them talk, look attentive and don’t say anything till they’re done. Then just promise ONCE not to do it again. If they ask something like, “Well what do you have to say for yourself, young man?” nothing you can say is going to excuse it, so don’t bother trying. Just say, “I know it was wrong, I’m sorry, I won’t do it again.”
I assume the suspension is the punishment, and if they ask what you think your punishment should be, you can say the same thing. You could also say the shame of it is also punishment.
I wouldn’t try charm, but of course some people get away with it. It really depends on the mood of the superintendent. If he’s really angry, let him be angry. If he comes across as wanting to work with you, then work with him.
If he wants you to say where you got it and name others you’ve sold to, it’ll be your decision whether you rat on them or not. You’ll have to decide which punishment is worse, the one from the superintendent for refusing to cooperate or the ones from the kids at school and whoever your supplier is. Ethically, you should tell. But you have to live with these people, so you decide.
If you’re the super-honest type, you could say you don’t see anything wrong with using and selling it. But you do see it’s against school rules and you know you have to abide by them and by the law.
If things go well, saying thank you at the end could only help.

Apparently the law isn’t involved because your school didn’t call them, not because you’re 14. Selling drugs on school property is a felony (state and federal) for you just like the rest of us.
