Has anyone stayed at a hotel using a timeshare promotion?

My wife and I were thinking about buying a timeshare and I know that you can get some great deals on rooms for a week if you tour one of the hotels that sells them. I was just wondering if anyone else has traveled like this and can relate their experience with the required tour. I know in the past many people have been victim to the “hard sell”.
